How it works

A trading engine on your machine.
Not a black box in ours.

SentryQ is a Windows desktop application. It connects to your own trading account — cTrader, or MetaTrader 5 in beta — with your explicit permission, trades the strategies you enable under hard risk limits, and reports everything it does — live.

01

Connect your trading account

cTrader: click Connect and your browser opens cTrader's own authorisation page — the same pattern as "Sign in with Google". You approve access, choose which account SentryQ may trade, and cTrader hands the app a scoped permission token. MetaTrader 5 (beta): SentryQ links directly to the MT5 terminal running on your machine — enable the terminal's Algo Trading switch and you're connected.

  • Your password never touches SentryQ. cTrader authorisation happens on cTrader's own pages; the MT5 link talks only to the terminal you're already logged into.
  • Demo-first. Trials and the initial release run on demo accounts — practise with zero risk to real capital.
  • Revocable any time — from your cTrader settings, or MT5's Algo Trading switch, independent of us.
  • MT5 note: requires a hedging-type account (the default for retail brokers) — the app checks and tells you if yours isn't.

Choose strategies, keep or tune the defaults

The strategy library shows five validated systems, each with a plain-English brief: what it trades, how it wins, how it loses, and the drawdowns to expect. Flip the ones you want on.

  • Validated defaults — every parameter ships at the value that survived four years of testing.
  • Your overrides (Pro+) — risk per trade, stop distances, take-profit levels, order behaviour. Applied live, no restart.
  • One-click reset back to system defaults whenever you want the tested configuration back.
  • Guarded core — the signal engines themselves are locked, so tuning can't accidentally destroy the validated edge.

It trades. You watch everything, and out-rank everything.

The engine scans its pairs every few minutes, places entries with broker-side stops attached, manages take-profits and breakevens tick by tick, and streams the whole picture to your dashboard: positions, pending orders, per-strategy health, risk state, monthly report cards.

  • Everything visible — every order carries a strategy label; nothing is hidden or pooled.
  • Everything stoppable — disable one strategy, or hit the kill-switch to cancel all orders, close all positions and pause, in one click.
  • Everything recorded — trade history, health tracking against the validated envelope, and a monthly report card you can download.

What SentryQ can — and can never — touch

The architecture is deliberately split. The app on your machine does the trading. Our servers handle only your subscription. The two never share broker access.

✅ What the app does (on your device)

  • Connects to your cTrader account with your authorisation
  • Places, manages and closes trades on the account you chose
  • Reads prices, positions and history to run its dashboard
  • Stores your broker token locally, on your machine

🚫 What we can never do

  • Hold, move or withdraw your money — funds stay with your broker
  • See or store your broker password
  • Trade any account you haven't explicitly authorised
  • Access your broker connection from our servers — they only handle billing & licences
The risk stack

Twenty-six guards, always on duty

Each guard works independently, so no single failure — a news spike, a bad streak, a runaway day, a correlated pile-up — goes unanswered. And every one of them applies to automated and manual trades alike.

⚖️

Risk-based sizing

Every trade — strategy, pasted signal or Telegram signal — is sized from its stop distance to risk a fixed, small percentage of your balance, in your account's own currency. Volatile pairs get smaller positions by construction.

📰

News Guard

A live economic calendar feeds the engine. New entries are suspended in a window around high-impact events like NFP and rate decisions — no walking into scheduled volatility.

📉

Daily loss limit

If the day's losses cross your threshold, trading halts until tomorrow. Streak psychology, automated away.

🛡️

Equity Guardian

Continuously tracks your peak equity. If drawdown ever exceeds your limit, it halts everything and flattens every position — the structural backstop.

🧺

Portfolio exposure guard

Caps your combined exposure to any one currency across all open trades — so EURUSD, EURJPY and EURGBP positions can't quietly become one oversized euro bet.

🎯

Per-symbol cap

A customisable limit on simultaneous positions in the same pair. Multi-target signals count once — the cap guards concentration, not tranche structure.

⏸️

Cooldown guards

After a losing streak, or immediately after a stop-out on a pair, the engine stands down for a configurable spell before trading that ground again.

🌊

Spread & margin checks

Entries are refused when the spread is abnormally wide or free margin is too thin — the trades that look fine on a chart but bleed in execution.

🗓️

Weekend & time filters

No new positions into the weekend gap, and per-strategy trading windows so the engine only acts in the sessions you've approved.

↩️

Cancel-on-reversal

Optional: if the setup that justified a pending order disappears, the order is withdrawn rather than left waiting to fill into a dead idea.

📊

Expected-vs-actual

Live results are compared to each strategy's validated envelope. If performance drifts below where the evidence says it should be, you're told plainly.

🎛️

The safety panel

Every guard above is visible in one panel — tune thresholds, toggle features, and bulk-enable or disable strategies. Your risk posture, at a glance.

Kill-switch

The final word. One tap — from the desktop, the mobile app, or remotely from your account page — cancels every order, closes every position, and pauses the engine.

Run it anywhere

Your desk, or a server that never sleeps

Because SentryQ connects through cTrader's cloud API, the same app works from your home PC or from a Windows VPS running 24/7. No special editions, no extra setup.

  • Desktop — install next to cTrader, watch it work in real time.
  • VPS — deploy on any Windows server for round-the-clock coverage; Elite plans include deployment help.
  • Auto-updates — strategy improvements and fixes ship to the app automatically as small patches you approve.

Common questions

Does SentryQ hold my money?

No — and it can't. Your funds stay in your own account with your broker. SentryQ only places trades on that account with your permission, and our servers have no path to your broker connection at all.

What happens if my internet or PC goes down?

Every position SentryQ opens carries a broker-side stop-loss, so your protective exit lives at the broker, not on your machine. When the app reconnects it re-adopts its positions and carries on. For maximum uptime, run it on a VPS.

Can I trade my own ideas alongside it?

Yes. SentryQ labels and manages only its own orders. Manual trades or other tools on the same account are left strictly alone (we'd still recommend a dedicated account for clean accounting).

How do I stop it?

Three ways, instantly: switch off an individual strategy, hit the kill-switch (cancels and closes everything, then pauses), or revoke access in cTrader itself. You can also just close the app — broker-side stops remain.

Does SentryQ work with MetaTrader 5?

Yes — in beta. The same seven strategies, risk stack and dashboard run against the MT5 terminal on your machine (hedging accounts; enable the terminal's Algo Trading switch). cTrader remains our lead platform while MT5 completes the same validation process; we label it beta until it has earned the same evidence bar. Our evidence standard →

When can I trade a live account?

The trial and initial release are demo-only by design — we want your first weeks risk-free. Live-account support is the first post-launch milestone.

Which pairs does it trade?

The strategies scan up to 12 major and cross pairs (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, EURGBP and more). Each strategy uses the subset where its edge actually validated — see the strategy library.

Beyond the strategies

Your pocket. Your signals.

04

Take it with you — the companion app

The SentryQ mobile app (iOS & Android) connects to your engine so you can watch equity, positions and live charts, pause or emergency-stop trading, close positions and adjust risk from anywhere. It talks to your engine through your SentryQ account — broker credentials never touch the phone.

05

Bring any signal — it gets the SentryQ treatment

Paste a signal, build one by hand, or forward it to our Telegram bot. Follow channels through the Sources directory and see them ranked on a leaderboard where every signal is recorded at posting time and replayed against real market prices — history can't be rewritten. Whatever the source, the engine sizes the trade from your stop distance at your risk setting, runs every safety guard, and asks you to confirm before anything is placed.

06

Stay informed without watching

Trade opens and closes, guard trips and engine events reach you the moment they happen — as push notifications on the mobile app, by email, or straight to your Telegram. At the end of each day the desktop app writes you a plain-English summary: what traded, what was held back, and which guard held it back. And after every update, a short "what's new" note tells you exactly what changed.

The best due diligence is watching it trade with nothing at stake. Fourteen days, on us.
